Week 77

Hello everyone! I can definitely still say that every week in my mission goes by faster and faster. I feel like time is slipping through my fingers! It was a great week though!

On Tuesday I went on exchanges with Sister Zundel! It was a blast until she reminded me that it was our last exchange! I just love that girl so much! She is one tough cookie and always finds silver linings even when life is hard! We did service, contacted at Walmart, and had a lesson with Kat! Kat and Josh are already planning when they are going to be sealed in the temple! I just love them more and more everytime we see them!

Friday we had MLC, but this one was really special because we got to go to the temple! It was such a special experience being in the temple with so many wonderful missionaries! The spirit was strong and I could feel my Heavenly Father's love! After that we set goals and made plans. I also did my teacher certification with Sister McMurray. She asked me if I really had to go home. I love the rush I get when I teach the gospel, and believe me, I wish I could stay. My mom doesn't like that idea very much. That night we went to the temple with Josh and Kat! Meghan came with us! The temple president and his wife came to talk to us! Kat was amazed by the peace the temple brings. I am too. I was really touched by a story that President McMurray shared about his father. Even when he was on his death bed and couldn't attend the temple, He renewed his temple recommend. The temple is my favorite place and I always want to be worthy to enter its doors. He also made us a promise that if we always held a current temple recommend we would never fall off the Covenant path.

Saturday was my last car fast ever! We had a great day at the sculpture garden! Then we walked all the way to the church to realize that I forgot the keys at home! Luckily, we found a way in!

Testimony meeting on Sunday was AMAZING! So many people bore their testimony about missionary work! It brought back all of the wonderful memories of my mission! From getting my mission call to teaching Kat, every moment has shaped me into a better person! I just wanted to hug Kat the whole meeting! She has changed my life forever!

Yesterday was my last interview with President McMurray. It was so bittersweet. He told me that he and Sister McMurray have loved serving with me. The flood gates burst open. I know that I have not only loved the McMurrays for the past 17 months, but I have loved them forever. They have been such a strength to me and they have set a wonderful example for me of how to achieve a celestial family. In my interview President McMurray told said "At the end of your mission, I don't want you to ask the Lord if you did enough. We are all imperfect and we make mistakes. Instead, ask him if your sacrifice was acceptable, because I can assure you, Sister Gish, that it was." on a lighter note, he told me that he would haunt me if I go astray. We talked about the Doctrine of Christ and turning outward to serve others. We also talked about dating, but that is a completely different story. Hahahaha.

I got a blessing at the beginning of the transfer. It told me I would smile alot. That could not have been more true. I've experienced many of my "lasts" this week. My last temple trip, my last Loveland Leadership Council, my last interview, and my last month started this week. I have cried alot, but mostly I smiled. This has been the greatest experience of my life so far, but I feel peace knowing that it is just a chapter in my book. The best is yet to come!

I love you all!
