Week 57: Sister Gish Hit Her 13 Month Mark and She's Staying in Greeley!

Hello friends! This week was very bittersweet! The biggest news is that transfers are tomorrow, so we got transfer information on Saturday! To my surprise, I will be staying in Greeley and Sister Zitting is being transferred to Casper! It will be so sad to say goodbye to her! Our companionship has been a dream! Sister Zitting is funny and kind and just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside! I will miss her tons, but I know she will do amazing things in Casper! I was really excited to be staying. There must be another person in Greeley that I am meant to cross paths with! My new companion will be Sister Martin! She's adorable, and her close family friend was companions with my mom on their missions! Such a small world!

Chris and Ellen got married on Saturday! Yay! They are so cute and I can't wait for the day they are sealed in the temple!

On Friday we got a call from a lady, Jen, who lives in Loveland! She said that the missionaries in her ward had invited her to invite someone to church, so she did! Lucky for us, it was someone in our ward! Her name is Shakira, and boy oh boy, she is a miracle! Shakira is 18 and she was born blind. That's how Jen knows her! They have spent many hours in the car driving Shakira to her school in Colorado Springs. Just another wonderful example of how miraculous and effective member missionary work is! Despite all of the hard challenges life has dealt Shakira, I have never met a girl so positive about anything and everything that comes her way! She leaned over to Sister Zitting during sacrament meeting and said "I want to be a member of your church! How do I do that?" Sister Zitting explained that she would have to come to church two more times and that we teach her. When her mom picked her up and asked how she liked church, Shakira replied "I loved it! I want to go two more times so I can go forever!" then yesterday we got a text from her saying "Can you teach me right this second?" We Skyped her and taught her the Restoration! She knew all about prophets and Jesus Christ! She is simply brilliant and I can't wait to continue teaching her.

One of my favorite things I read in the Book of Mormon this week was in Mosiah 2:21-24.
21 I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another—I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants.
22 And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you.
23 And now, in the first place, he hath created you, and granted unto you your lives, for which ye are indebted unto him.
24 And secondly, he doth require that ye should do as he hath commanded you; for which if ye do, he doth immediately bless you; and therefore he hath paid you. And ye are still indebted unto him, and are, and will be, forever and ever; therefore, of what have ye to boast?

I have been in the mission field for 13 months! I have been priveleged to wear Christ's name for almost 400 days! The harder I work and the more I give, the more He blesses me. Even though I may be an unprofitable servant, I know I have a Savior who works through the weak and simple. What a pleasure it has been to be an instrument in His hand to save souls.

We will be moving to a new apartment but in the meantime, you can keep sending mail to my current address!

I love you all!
