Week 32

Hey everyone!

This was a very bitter sweet week. I had to say goodbye to my companion, Sister Latu! We packed a LOT of fun in those 4 weeks we were together. Her conversion story is amazing, and I know it will continue to bless the lives of others, just as it has blessed mine.

Yesterday was just packed with miracles. First we met with our investigator Emma. We met her while tabling at the union. Basically tabling is when we sit there and offer people candy to fill out a survey. It's pretty cool because we get to talk with a lot of people. Anyway, we taught her the Restoration and she is going to start reading the Book of Mormon. She seems really willing to keep commitments, so I am pretty excited!

Then we had a lesson with our investigator Daniel. He reached out to us a couple weeks ago. He has met with missionaries before, but felt too pressured to be baptized. He told us he hit rock bottom and that he is ready for some spiritual light. We had a very spiritual lesson with him. It was one of those where I felt really unprepared. I didn't feel like we should just teach him one of the main lessons, but that he needed something else. He told us that he didn't know how to discern his thoughts from the Holy Ghost, so we watched the Mormon Message series "Patterns of Light." We also read Ether 12. I really think that he knows what we are teaching is true, but we just have to help him realize it. He kept talking about aligning his will with God's will. We read Ether 12 and talked about how sometimes it is hard to have faith in God's will, but when we trust Him, He helps us become strong. I just love the Book of Mormon. I love how one chapter can apply to many different circumstances. I just know the Book of Mormon was written for our day, and that it truly helps us align our will with God's.

So then another great thing that happened was that someone reached out to meet with us. That just doesn't happen too often, so I was pumped. Her name is Paris. She came to church a couple weeks ago, and we didn't realize she wasn't a member until gospel principles when she said she loves our church and feels a sense of belonging. She wanted to talk with her family over spring break. I honestly didn't know if we would hear from her again after that, but yesterday she texted us and asked to meet. We have a lesson with her at 8 tonight and she said that she's really excited, and that makes me REALLY excited! I just love being a little missionary girl!
I also just want to mention how thankful I am that there are so many worthy priesthood leaders. Even when I am away from the one's in my family that I can still access it. I was able to get a blessing from an Elder in my district this week and it was just a wonderful reminder of how well Heavenly Father knows our hearts. Then we had a member have some tragic things happen this week and we were able to ask two random guys at the institute to give the member a blessing. I just thought it was so wonderful that they were worthy enough to serve at the drop of a pin.

I would invite you all to watch the mormon message called "The Will of God" Try to think of something you could do to align your will a little more with God's will. Really everything we have is from God and it already belongs to him. The only thing he doesn't have is our own will. I promise that He will make you into more than you could ever imagine!
